Beelitz Heilstaetten * Frauenpavillon und Pathologie * Women’s Pavillon and Pathology

In Part 2 of my Beelitz series I will show you two buildings in vicinity of the surgery ward. One is a so-called pavillon of the women’s tuberculosis sanitarium, the other is the pathology building, where post-mortem examinations took place. Both buildings are in a very advanced state of decay due to vandalism and environmental influence. Because of this, I could only take a few pictures in the pathology ward.

The highlights of the women’s pavillon are the former dining room with its wonderful windows and window bay. The other is the small integrated bath house, which is nice to view, but can’t keep up with the men’s bath house – a clear sign of the times when the Heilstaetten were built. In the pathology ward, we can visit the remains of an auditorium and an autopsy room with a section table. The other rooms are mostly empty and in a terrible state, so it was no fun taking pictures there. We made our own fun with the section table – a must when visiting Beelitz Heilstaetten 😉 Opposite to the main entrance of the pavillon is a collonade leading to the Alpenhaus – a special location that I will show you in another article.
