Vielen Dank.

uk24 Do you know this feeling? You look at photos of a location, and you instantly know: wow, I *must* visit this!! I don’t know why, but this burnt out castle ruin fascinated me from the very first moment. It took me a while to find out where it is located, but the secret could not hide for too long 😉

On a cold, but sunny early spring day, the castle was selected as the final location of a tour through ruin country. We came late, the sun was already setting – but that gave a boost to the overall atmosphere which had to be savored. On the other hand, we had to be quick, as the light was vanishing. After the sun was gone, the full moon stood over the castle, and we used that for some night shots when we were leaving – thus our name of the castle.

To be honest, it is nothing more than a completely burnt out ruin – most floors have burnt away, there are more or less only the outer walls left, except two massively built staircases with lift. On the ground floor, one can explore a few remaining details, such as the remains of two kitchens, where one of them only consists of some rusty and deformed debris.

I only found very few information about the history of the location, and those infos are only secondhand. Probably, the castle was built in 1912 by a rich German family with eight children. It was sold in the 1960s and served as staff apartments till 1990, when it burned. If anybody has information about the castle, please contact me!! Thanks in advance.
